Tv + film
This section contains TV episodes where I had a prominent role in scripting and/or story work. Daily dramas in UK and Singapore separate story and script writing to meet tight production deadlines. Story work includes both writing character arcs and outlining individual episodes scene by scene for a scriptwriter to follow.
I have been on Mediacorp Studios' English daily drama story team for ~2 years, working on Tanglin (2017-2018) and KIN (2018-present).
KIN
Dr Shen is a long-running KIN character with a mysterious personality and past. After one year of episodes and a five-year timeskip, we revealed his dissociative identity disorder in this intense episode, taking place over a few hours with flashbacks to clues from months before.
I wrote and structured this episode scene by scene. The script was written by Lynette Chiu.
I gave an interview to a Mediacorp publication on this storyline here.
Deanna is a loving wife and mother who discovers she has terminal brain cancer after being warded for a car accident. Afraid to tell anyone but her best friend, Deanna's hesitation leads to awful consequences in this episode - where her husband finds out in the worst way possible.
I wrote Deanna's storyline since the beginning of Kin, and was also in charge of structuring this episode scene by scene. The script was written by Lynette Chiu.
TANGLIN
After Suzanne Tong accidentally kills someone at a wedding, her husband Chris takes the fall for her. But after Suzanne goes mad with guilt and paranoia, Chris is forced to turn her in as his family rallies around him.
I wrote the final story arc of Suzanne's downward spiral leading to her arrest, and was also in charge of structuring this episode scene by scene. The final script was written by Sam Lee.
